Photos and media you provide (mobile and web)
If you choose to take a photo with your device camera or import an image from your photo library, we process that image only to provide features you request—for example uploading a document, setting a book cover, or updating your profile image. Images you upload are handled like other content you submit to the service (see Document Content and Data Security).
Mobile app permissions (Android and iOS)
Our mobile app may request access to device capabilities. We request each permission only where needed for the feature you use. You can deny a permission; some features may not work without it.
Camera
Purpose: To let you capture photos—for example when you choose "take photo" to upload a document, add a book cover image, or update your profile picture.
Data handling: Photos you take are sent to our service only when you confirm the upload or complete the action in the app. We do not use the camera in the background or record video without your action.
Microphone
Purpose: To support voice input and related features where you choose to speak instead of typing.
Data handling: Audio is processed to provide the feature (for example transcription or sending your request to our backend). We do not continuously listen outside of an explicit voice action you start in the app.
Photos / media / files
Purpose: To let you pick existing images or files from your device (for example document uploads or images from your library).
Data handling: Only items you select are uploaded or processed. Storage-related permissions on Android may vary by OS version; we use them only to access content you choose to share.
